everything, even oxygene and money and water and fuel and nuclear
power. now gecko is not consumer-friendly really anymore, no structure,
no prices mentionned (very rarely) only for the chaotic freaks, basically
telling you the truth about some long-existing friendships and deals
with the musical mafia, telling you lies about the music-industry, telling
you shit about the nice world outside, writing about received emails
and propaganda-shit that seems to be interesting and increasing the
entropy of information, taking part in the war of (dis)information and
basically totally dedicated and devoted to the underground network of
networking nerds and freaks. subversion is only one chapter in our book

releases of a benefit nature.
manufracture (
http://noiseweb.com/manufracture -
manufracture@noiseweb.com ) was hyperactive to say
the least (or me i was totally lazy?), anyways one day i received
a box full of different fine and inspiring diy-jewels from eric
with a nice picture of him and marylise doing some shit with canoos
in canaduh, it was like birthday and that is a part of the story
linked to that secret box. hermit "urban myth vs common knowledge"
CD
(and other tales of modern living and isolation) has a very
catchy rhythmical opener that uses only whacky rhythmical cheap electronic,
voice and sparse noise but still remains totally interesting all the
way through. second track is way more complexe with an islamic guy
shouting/ praying and electronic going wild and "i'm the best" karaoke-style
cheap asian stuff. third track then more violently live with voice,
shouts, distorted and pitched violin. the two remaining songs are 2
drones of about 20 minutes with increasing intensity and both creating
not really an atmosphere where you would like to drink beers and shout
around like the filthy punx. pretty melancholic or better said slow changing
monotony but in the good sense, reduction to the essential. waves that
have the ability to carry you away to another soundplanet. comes with
the unique sparse boros layout, stamped hermit logo and black fingerprints,
minimal but effective. in my humble opinion this for sure is the most
mature and outstanding hermit output so far. *** man is the bastard
bastard noise wiese & wood "mutant" CD is what i would call a
soundtrack with the edge to psychotic insights, misanthropic apocalypse
and post-armageddon times of a nuclear war without winners. but nature
might survive in some way and continues its senseless existence without
the human scum. woods unique violent barbaric voice and a total out of
control sometimes electronic sound wall leaves no real hope. this is
for sure musical destruction done with surgical accuracy at some stages
but then your skull is smashed in by a round set hammer in the next moment
always leaving you in expectation for the next aural horror. *** dave
phillips "IIII" CD is by no means easy to access but if you manage
to get into his eccentric sound-world full of noises from the nature/,
slamming doors, voices, humming, fire, water, birds, syrens and screams
of momentary madness then you will understand and re-define the label
"extreme noise". really personal collage of body-sounds, self-built electronic
devices that make strange bleeping sounds and lot of long pauses and
extreme changes/ cut-ups and a nearly-manifest promoting respect to creatures
and nature. eco-noise? inserted in a silk-screened nice white cloth-bag.
*** mexican power authority "i just want it to be easy" LP ***
zabloudila "plyta kmpaktwa niskzumowa" CD offer 3 songs and almost
an hour of improvised noise-wall con/destructed by guitars, basses, female
singing and whispering, tribal-drumming. collectively they are jamming around
and exploring the vast fields of never-really-determined music just existing
for the moment and living by the freshness of experimentation in sounds
and noises. *** vialka "tonight i show you fuck" CD is one of my favourite
recordings in these dayz of general depression and desorientation, but
it is fukken to short and leaves you screaming for more. unbelieveable
what a range of no-wave jazzy tunes marylise, eric and jacopo are
able to create in just 24:27 mins. this might be partially sabot finally
managing to play their intellectual head-music with guts and with the quirky
groovy approach good and very old nomeansno had maybe in their good old
dayz. but this definitely more than unispired copyratting. high-speed mtv-rock'n'roll-circus
with escapes into french world of chansons and greek-inspired catchy tunes.
colors for your miserable life, if you don't fall in love with the nice
cover and the eccentric back-cover you must be a zombie. so whenever i
feel down they "show me fuck" or maybe that i should not take the mean world
outside too serious. with a good dose of humor you can survive every personal
collapse of your worlds. *** hermit/ e. boros "cabaret experimental"

lot of humor. you have laughters and noise-entertainer eric telling you
the joke about a little baby polar-bear doing some excurses into experimental
noise soundscapes and manic aggressive noise-bursts. highly fresh stuff
with lot of originality giving you a good time.

floh's soundscapes, good and creative use of his sampler! chaotic loops.
repetition with slight variation. johan berghaus is basically playing almost
rhythmical videogames. this is dance-orientated stuff not meant to be
played in your local discotheque where dumb redneck consume zombies are

somber than it used to be. imagine metropolis full of mutants, cyborgs

with a bit screaming and a touch of old-school industrial. the 5th song
reminds a bit of noisy mixture of butthole surfers and especially blurred
jesus and the mary chain. pretty fresh reduction of songideas repeated
ad infinitum creates monotonous moods, but i tend to like it, becuz access
is pretty direct this way. the nautilus deconstruction is by no means
not easy to access. there's no real point to start from except maybe voice
as soundsource, noises made with mouth and cheap microphone. in my humble
opinion this is excellent high-standard concrete noise with tapes and
reduced background noises from water, paper plastic, garbage
and cadavers. it's totally eccentric noise-fetishism reminding me a
bit sudden infant stuff, but this is of course unique and great and not
only a cheap clone. highly (not only) entertaining and inspiring. great
moments in conceptual but still not totally determined noise-world.

CD with 2 tracks lasting up to 72 mins. of spontaneously improvised harsh
industrial/ noise. an orgy of feedback from effect pedals, iron scraps
treatment, insane voices, distant industrial hammering. the first song
is too much dominated by phased feedback effects in my opinion. but the second
song remains interesting for almost the whole duration and that is nearly
1 hour. a mixture of psychedelic windblowing, rhythms and patterns, accoustic-guitar
treatment, random noises, generally with much more intense atmosphere than
the first piece. in the mood the titlesong is not so pissed-off like the
opener and sounds seem to be much more clear and one can hear helluva different
sounds. the song even offers different changes in tempi (extreme doom industrial)
and in combination change in mood. well, this for sure was a good session

built around acoustic instruments, except for one piece
which is a Co Caspar
piece (with his trademark use of sound effects). Instruments
include found sounds, wind instruments and Caspar's metallic
pipes. They play
along nicely in these strange, yet atmospheric sounds of
ço" CD-comp. with hinterlandt (birds, cats, monkey, easy-listening
grooves, frogs, roosters drops, funky basslines, organs, d'n'beats), sputnik
booster (distorted electropop, a tune that could go on and on), die grenzlandreiter
(simple songwriting here, a simple song that keeps up the ramones-tradition
but much more socio-political, in some way totally catchy song), margarin
grain (in some way country/folk influenced rocksong that tells you something
about wonderland motel and having a good time in motels and on roads maybe?),
jugendstil (indie with drive but not really edges, could be broadcasted
in student's radio), object astra (a very good and tight song in the onq/colors
from behind tradition), v. (endless automatic loops lasting 3 mins.), redcode
(bastard breakbeats with voice samples), pichismo (esperanto noise this
time, sometimes they play strange pissed-off psychedelic punkHC), s/m operations
(machines going wild and beating the shit out of the artificial designer-laptopped
head(but no heart)music, computer white-noise?). on the envelope-cover you
see the feet of a very well-known person in the fine underground and the
comments to the songs are translated by a totally fucked-up module who in
the end describes music much more apt than me. like always lot of fresh and
excellent stuff of projects and bands i did not know they even existed. maybe
this time a bit short (34:54) but with that you can relax and be surprised
in a short but reasonable time. my three mutated thumbs up! ***
v/a "sold out in 2003" CD-comp. was a nice present for costumers and
friends of dhyana records coming together with a calender of the year 2003
promoting all the sold-out trash that is no more piling up in bernds' living
space. once again proofing that dhyana is a fine and tasty soundpollution.
*** deep "drivedeepdownhill" double-mCD is downhill bass-dominated
psychedelia, some bits sound like desolated and disorientated monotonous
cure-sessions from the pornography-era, which is very close to me (aha!).
basically a 40 mins. session with a bit of distant singing at the beginning
and some whistling birds, afterwards rhythmical phased/flanged bass-feedback
drones into spheric soundscapes. very nice short photostory about downhill
in forests. with some part of the tire on the cover.
pe lang (pelang56@hotmail.com
) "raumtransport 20:57" CDr (lim.25) is a very nice minimal sounding piece
of sound but not with totally easy concept behind. basic sound origins from
a feedbackloop from a 2,5 meter spring reverb (check:
http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/epeasant/projects/springs/springs.html
) and a fixed filter bank (don't ask me what it really is...). if
you're listening on headphones, then you will hear that sounds wander through
different spatial dimensions, this is achieved realistically with an altiverb
plug-in. on the CDr you will also find a program written in max/msp/jitter
and is a short research about the relation of frequencies between tones, movement,
light and colors and planets. venus f.e. has a basic frequency of 221.23
hz on the 32nd octave resulting in "a", color is "yellow-orange", tempo is
103,7 beats per mins. in the 25th octave with a pendular length of 8,3 cm.
oh well, maybe this scientific ambient? the result is appalling(?) and relaxing,
in some way even meditative sounds. pretty sober but functional artwork of
the cover, with very sparse information. maybe it is no coincidence that
it reminds me of the stuff i have been exposed to by carsten nicolai/ raster-noton.
this for sure is hardcore reflection of the basiscs of accustical phenomenas
and experiments. but despite of getting across the cold and remote spheres
of academic research this release sounds in some way from the warm and emotional
heart by itself. no dry explanations necessary.

) cities in desolation "demo, anavyssos session part I, 1/03"
is what i call pretty pschedelic noise-industrial with cello and
psychoactive electronics. takes you by the hand and leads you into
a distant world of dreams and possible nightmares, but it is up to you,
normally moods are of a melancholic intro-spective nature and not really
hostile to you. maybe to you it might sound hostile but for me it developped
a pretty familiar feeling although mostly i did not have a clue what
was going on or what will really happen in the next moment. *** drog
a tek "23:46" CDr starts with the really long titletrack with delayed
guitar picking, harmonium and some pitched single tone keyboards. relaxed
but also a bit melancholic and sad. second song slowly exploring rhythmically
and humble two guitar sound-worlds. third song is a straight late-night
session to dance to. guitar/toms based tribal waves that come and
go and somehow distorted whistling or flute?after these songs stuff gets
electronic. fifth song reminds me of digital distortion and fucked-up CDs,
sounds great. sixth song could be a commercial for a robot adventure park
of secret dreams. more than 1 hour of different beautiful soundtrips.
*** p.s. stamps back "78" CD is iasons computer-only music output
with a little help from ed kemper. 12 songs that create different moods,
but mostly tendencially psychotic or just strange/ eccentric. the master
of the laptop-mouse knows how to combine loops and to contrast sounds, textures
and voice samples.
*** in case you are interested, this is a diy mailmusic project,
for free and unconventional music creation. forward to your allies,
hide it from insurance agents/ cops/ judges/ artists/ advertisers/
bankmanagers etc. the goal is to promote collaboration and sharing of
ideas between people who do music. the main idea is this: someone creates
a sound, drone, loop, rhythm or complete track. s/he then sends it over
to someone from the mail musicians list. the receiver can effect process,
destroy, cut and paste, throw away, mix add sounds and tracks etc and either
produce a "song" or send it over to another mail musician for the continuation
of the same process until one feels that the track is finished. or someone
is picking up a track from the tracks to use list. the resulting material
is sent to this site, it is uploaded in mp3 format, and it is generally
free to be used in any releases by any mail musician.
electric shaman "kozmik zikir" CD (

) all in all 15 pretty short sonx here, what makes it a bit weird.
and then most of the sonx are even faded out. improvised guitarmusic supported
by sparse synth sounds, sounds like 4-track homerecording. some of the trax
have rhythmical patterns with basslines. there is an obvious psychedelic
approach or mood.

noise. what surely makes it cool is the ability not wanting to sound like
everybody else who's using software trackers, effects and samples. -
"corrosive" CDr (2002) much more odd and strange with voice bits
between the "sonx" than the more static previous CDr. Funny to see songtitles
like "die ende von es" and to hear pieces like "california noise" that
consists basically in field recordings and voices with a bit of effect manipulation.
- "soundbox" CDr (2003) starts with a very long (21:38) voice and
noise manipulation, people discussing about anarchism and god, money and
whatever. the last song is also lasting more than 20 mins. and titled as
"blue candy monkey train" blasts your ears of with electric hurricanes and
sandstorms.

approach from belarus. 9 sonx in 10 mins. so you get the full rage straigth

deathmetal, but it is definitely too much punk influenced. kontakt: (for

titled trip-hop(?) mostly straight-forward songstructures. but georg never
opted for the obvious and safe way, so welcome to some weirdness and oddness.
normally i would lose interest very soon in such styles like this, but this
for sure has more originality and rawness to offer than the average house/acid/trance
section output. in some way it is pure fun and maybe it is also meant as
some kind of parody, i don't know really, but i think georg really means
it. it is totally diy approach and fresh like this. the kids in the clubs
would maybe hate it or be irritated and that is way more cool. but the chance
that music like this is played by djs in nice sterile clubs where lot of
superficial people gather to have their superficial smalltalk about fashion
and latest records, is really meager. maybe life in such clubs would be more
interesting with diy electronica? i doubt. i don't know much about such styles,
so i cannot write that much about it. visit georg finest and always funny
and cynic webpages. he did the very very good cracked zine that obviously
is not coming out as zine anymore, it's now electronic on the web. have a

whizzbanger guide to zine distributors#6 (shannon colebank, the

of distributors from 18 countries, incl. zine libraries, zine stores, dozens
of zine-friendly web sites and many other valuable zine ressources. the
disadvantage of such compilations sometimes is that people come and go and
so obviously it is quite outdated after a year. but if you are not the total
novice you will surely recognize the people who are "into it for life". in
any way i found lot of inspiration and reasons to get in contact with some
people/ projects here. it is an excellent ressource, edited with accuracy
and you have lot of compressed, but still entertaining information here. shannon
is putting out and updating this guide every year, so send your self-description
or enough money and you will receive access to the exclusive circle of zinesters.
*** aftermath is refreshingly critical rant towards the ugly face
of us-capitalist-nation. it sums up the feelings of a shattered american
dream after the terrorists'(?) attack (or was it the CIA?) at that well-known
and now already totally symbolic day. in any way, good to read such thoughts
that have nothing to do with that plastic pro-american dream that turns into
nightmare if you are not a winner and if you look closer what mean implications
it implies (bad english). the poems are written in a pissed-off, aggressive
and in some way cynical tone throughout. georgie double-ya is the hero of
a nation of brainwashed patriotics, idiots who buy the media lies about constructed
and over-biased targetgroups of potential enemies. if you are not for capitalism
then you are enemy of the democratic(!) state. the power of money still
makes the world go round. *** death of culture is a book of poetry

only documenting the fact that aids does not exist, but also telling you
something about the relation of aspartame/nutrasweet and brain cancer and

and challenging information here, but sometimes i miss the clearness becuz
it is such an information overload in the end. in some way sources of information
are not totally clear documented, but it does not really matter. some stuff
reminds me of some conspiracy theories, but maybe with some personal research
you come to the same conclusion.
